Three Ways to Have Your Opensolr Chat Bot
The same Opensolr chat bot, answering your visitors from your Opensolr Index with every source linked, comes in three ways. Pick the one that fits your site.
1. The embed code from your Opensolr account
Opensolr runs the chat for you. In the Control Panel of your index, open Chat Bot under WebCrawler, list the domains of your site and paste one line on your pages, or switch the chat on for the hosted search page of the index. Nothing to install on your server; settings, stats and history are all in your Control Panel.
- Step by step: Put the chat on your site
- The product: Opensolr Hosted Chat Bot
2. The open source Opensolr Chat Bot client
You install the chat on your own PHP site and run it there, with its own admin page, settings and data on your server. It connects to your Opensolr Index with your account email and API key. Use it when you want the chat and its data on your own server.

3. The Drupal module Opensolr Search
On a Drupal site, the Opensolr AI Search part of the Opensolr Search module has the same chat built in as a site assistant, set up from the Drupal admin with one click, with its stats and history in Drupal.
- The module: Opensolr Search on drupal.org
- Documentation: Site Assistant
All three need an Opensolr Index filled by the Web Crawler or Data Ingestion and a plan with AI: What the chat bot needs.
