The No Results tab of Query Stats lists every search on your hosted search page that found nothing. Each one is something a visitor wanted and your site did not give them: a missing page, a product you do not stock, or a word your pages spell differently.
What it shows
- Zero-Result Queries: how many different searches found nothing.
- Total Occurrences: how many times visitors got no results.
- A chart of the most frequent ones, then the list with Count, First Seen and Last Seen, the most frequent first.
Like every search in Query Stats, each visitor counts once per query.
Use it
- Open Query Stats and click the No Results tab.
- Start at the top of the list: the searches with the highest Count.
- For each one, decide what helps: add the missing content, add a synonym so the visitor's word finds your word (Synonyms, stopwords and protected words), or pin a page to that search (Pin a result).
- Tick the searches you dealt with and click Delete Selected to keep the list short. It cannot be undone.
A search that found nothing for only one visitor is dropped after about six months without being seen again.
