Paste raw parameters
When you already have a query, from your Solr log, your code or a URL, you do not need to type it field by field. Paste it, and the form fills itself.
01 · Steps
- In the Query tab of Solr Admin, click Raw parameters, next to Examples.
- A box opens above the form, holding the parameters that are in the form now. Replace them with yours.
- Click Load into the form. The parameters are checked, then the form is filled with them.
- Click Execute Query.
Close hides the box; Raw parameters opens it again.
02 · What you can paste
A query string, exactly as your Solr log shows it, on one line, with spaces, quotes and backslashes as they are:
?q=*:*&defType=edismax&fl=* score&fq=type:"page"&fq=locale_s:en&sort=score desc, date desc&rows=10
A whole line from the Solr log: only what is inside params={...} is used.
... webapp=/solr path=/select params={q=title:solr&fq=locale_s:en&rows=10} hits=42 status=0 QTime=3A URL or an encoded query string: the address before ? is ignored and %3A, + and the rest are decoded.
https://HOST/solr/INDEX/select?q=title%3Asolr&rows=10
One name=value per line, as Parameters sent to Solr shows them. A line that does not start with name= continues the value above it, so a value can span several lines, such as a json.facet.
q=title:solr fq=locale_s:en fq=type:page rows=10
An & inside a value stays in the value: q=AT&T is read as one parameter.
03 · The check
- Every name must start with a letter and use only letters, digits,
_and.. - Parameters that take several values, such as
fqorfacet.field, may repeat; each one becomes a line of the field. Any other parameter given twice is a mistake. wt=jsonandexpandMacros=falseare skipped, because the form always sends them; any other value for them is a mistake.- On a mistake, the message says what is wrong and the form stays as it was.
- When the check passes, the form is emptied and filled with what you pasted:
defTypeand the other known parameters get their own fields, any other name becomes a custom parameter.
The parameters the form does not accept are refused when you run the query: Query limits.
