Solr Admin: Inspect and Query Your Opensolr Index

Look inside the index and search it

Solr Admin

Every Opensolr Index has a Solr Admin tab in its control panel. It shows what is inside the index and lets you run searches against it, without leaving the control panel and without a second login.

01 · Where it is

Open the control panel of the index and click Solr Admin in the menu on the left, or the Solr Admin button in the Quick Actions bar.

Four tabs. All of them only read the index; none of them changes it.

02 · The four tabs

  • Overview: how many documents the index holds, its size and the Solr version. Overview.
  • Replication: for the replicas of a cluster, when they last copied from their leader and whether it worked. Replication.
  • Segments info: the files the index is made of. Segments info.
  • Query: a form that searches the index and shows the full answer of Solr. The query form.

03 · Read only

Nothing in this tab changes your index: no document is added, changed or deleted, and no setting is touched. To change documents, send them to the index with its login; to change settings, use the Configuration and Tools tabs.

The tab reads the index on its own server, so the IP rules of the index do not apply to it, and its searches do not count toward your bandwidth.
