Opensolr Mail is a free, open source Android app for Fastmail. It puts every Fastmail account you have in one unified inbox, in threads, with notifications you can answer from, your Fastmail Notes and your Fastmail calendars. Connect an Opensolr account and all of your mail, including the text inside attachments, becomes searchable by words and by meaning, with an AI answer on top.
An Opensolr account is optional.
Reading, writing, notifications, notes and calendars work with Fastmail alone. Only search needs an Opensolr account, because your search lives in an Opensolr Index of your own. Open search without one and the app offers the sign-in.
01 · The shortest path
- Install the signed APK from GitHub. Android 8.0 or newer.
- Sign in to Fastmail in your browser, and add your other accounts.
- Read your mail in the unified inbox.
- When you want search, connect an Opensolr account and search as soon as the first messages are indexed.
