What Is Not in schema.xml

Copy fields, handlers, weights, the hybrid parser and facets

What is not in schema.xml

Some of what makes site search work is not in the schema file. When you look for one of these in schema.xml and do not find it, this is where it lives.

Copy fields
There are none. Classic schemas fill title_s from title with <copyField>; here Opensolr writes those copies itself (Fields Opensolr adds). If you write to Solr's /update directly, without the crawl or Data Ingestion, send uri_s, title_s, tags, title_tags and spell yourself, or those features stay empty for your documents.
Request handlers
/select, the spellcheck component and /autocomplete are in search.xml, which solrconfig.xml includes. The default search field is text.
Field weights
How much each field counts is applied at search time, from Search Tuning.
The hybrid parser
{!hybrid}, which ranks words and meaning together, is part of the Solr installed on the Opensolr servers. It is not in schema.xml and not in your solrconfig.xml.
Facet settings
Which fields show as sidebar filters, with their labels and widgets, is kept with your index settings, not in Solr: Facets.
