Plans & Pricing
Opensolr offers four flexible plan tiers designed to grow with your project. Every plan lets you customize your resources (RAM, disk, replicas) so you only pay for what you actually need. There are no hidden fees and no surprises on your invoice. New to Opensolr? Start with the Getting Started guide to place your first order.
Small
From €21/month — Perfect for personal projects, prototypes, and small websites. Includes 1 Opensolr Index with customizable RAM and disk.
Medium
From €42/month — Great for growing applications and mid-size sites. More RAM, disk, and query capacity than Small.
Large
From €63/month — Built for production workloads with high traffic. Generous resource allocations and priority support.
Enterprise
From €550/month — Dedicated resources, SLA guarantees, custom configurations, and white-glove support for mission-critical deployments. Compare all plan types in the Shared vs. Dedicated vs. Resilient guide.
Customize Your Resources
Every plan is a starting point. You choose how much RAM, disk space, and how many replicas you need. The price adjusts in real time as you configure — so you see exactly what you will pay before you commit. Only pay for what you use. Need to add resources to an existing index? See Upgrade Resources.
Monthly vs. Yearly Billing
You can choose to be billed monthly or yearly. Yearly billing is available for all plans and locks in your rate for 12 months. You can switch between billing cycles at any time from your dashboard.
If you use the official Opensolr Search Drupal module, you are eligible for 50% off Small and Medium plans for a full year. The discount is applied automatically when you connect your Drupal site. Full details here.
Opensolr offers a free membership tier so you can explore the platform before committing to a paid plan. No credit card required.
Payment Methods
Opensolr accepts all major credit and debit cards through Stripe, one of the world's most trusted payment processors. Every transaction is protected with 3D Secure authentication, adding an extra layer of fraud protection.
- Visa, Mastercard, American Express — all accepted
- 3D Secure — your bank verifies each payment, protecting you from unauthorized charges
- PCI-compliant — Opensolr never stores your card details; Stripe handles everything securely
- Automatic renewal — your subscription renews automatically so your service is never interrupted
Managing Your Subscription
You are in full control of your subscription at all times. There are no contracts, no lock-in periods, and no cancellation fees. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel whenever you want. For full details, see Manage Your Billing.
Switch to a higher plan instantly. You receive a pro-rata refund for the unused portion of your current billing period, so you never pay double. Details in the Upgrade & Refund Policy.
Move to a smaller plan whenever you like. The change takes effect at the start of your next billing cycle — you keep full access until then.
If you cancel, your account automatically drops to the free tier at the end of your billing period. Your data is kept — you can re-subscribe whenever you want. No penalties, no hassle. See the cancellation guide for step-by-step instructions.
Invoices
Every payment generates a detailed invoice that you can access from your Opensolr dashboard. Invoices are available for your entire billing history — there is no expiration date. See Download Invoices & Billing History for a walkthrough.
- Go to your Dashboard — log in at opensolr.com and click on Billing in the left sidebar.
- View Invoice History — you will see a list of all past invoices with dates, amounts, and status (paid/pending).
- Download — click any invoice to download it as a PDF or view it as HTML in your browser. Both formats include all details your accounting team needs.
If you have entered a VAT number in your account settings, it will appear on all invoices automatically — ready for your bookkeeper.
VAT Handling
Opensolr handles EU VAT automatically so you do not need to worry about tax calculations. Here is how it works, explained simply:
| Your Location | VAT Number Provided? | VAT Charged |
|---|---|---|
| EU country | No | Your country's standard VAT rate |
| EU country | Yes (valid) | 0% — reverse charge mechanism |
| Outside the EU | N/A | 0% — no VAT applies |
Go to Dashboard → Account Settings → Billing Details and enter your company VAT number. Opensolr validates it instantly against the EU VIES database. Once confirmed, all future invoices will show 0% VAT with the reverse charge note.
API Usage & Rate Limits
Your Opensolr dashboard shows you exactly how many API requests you are making. Usage is tracked at three levels so you can spot spikes and plan accordingly:
- Per-month limit — your total API request budget for the billing month
- Per-hour limit — prevents sudden traffic spikes from overwhelming your index
- Per-minute limit — fine-grained throttle for burst protection
If you consistently hit your rate limits, you can either upgrade to a higher plan or contact support@opensolr.com to discuss a custom limit increase for your account. Monitor your usage in real time from the API Usage Dashboard.
Enterprise customers, high-volume users, and agencies with special requirements — reach out to support@opensolr.com and we will build a plan that fits your exact needs. No commitment required to start the conversation.
