Where the QR code is
Your two-factor page has no QR code to add Opensolr to your authenticator app? The QR code only appears while you set the app up, after you sign in with your password and click a button.
Show the QR code
- Sign in with your email and password. While two-factor authentication is not on, Opensolr takes you straight to the two-factor page. You can also open it from Account › TFA (on a phone: Account › Two-Factor Auth), or at https://opensolr.com/admin/solr_manager/tfa.
- Open the Authenticator app part of the page and click Set up authenticator app. The QR code appears under Scan this QR code with your app.
- In your authenticator app, add an account and scan the QR code. Cannot scan it? Type the key shown next to it (Copy key helps). On the phone that has the app, you can tap Open in app on this device instead.
- Enter the 6-digit code the app shows and click Turn on. If recovery codes appear, save them: you will not see them again.
Each click on Set up authenticator app makes a new QR code, and only the newest one works. Finish within 15 minutes: after that the page says The setup expired. Please start again. and you click the button again.
Sign-in asks for a code and you have no QR code
The QR code is never shown at sign-in: the screen after your password only asks for a code. If it asks for the code from your authenticator app, the app is already on for your account. Turning it on took a code from an app that had scanned the QR code, or typed the key, on some phone.
- Look in your authenticator app for an entry called Opensolr, with the email address of your Opensolr account.
- Not there? See sign-in asks for a code you don't have.
Already on: no QR code on the page
Once the app is on, the Authenticator app part of the page shows Set up on with a date and the Remove authenticator app button, not the QR code. To get a new QR code, for a new phone for example, click Remove authenticator app, confirm with a current code or a recovery code, then set the app up again.
