Delete your account and your data

Delete only what an app stored, keep the account

Opensolr Photos and Opensolr Mail store what they find in a search index that belongs to your account. You can delete that index, and sign your phones out, yourself, at any time, without deleting your account. The details for each app are on Delete your data, keep your account.

1. Sign in at opensolr.com/users/login.
2. Open My Indexes and find the index created by the app. The index of Opensolr Photos starts with photos_, the index of Opensolr Mail with mail_.
3. Choose Delete and confirm. The index and every document in it are removed from our servers.
4. Open Account › Devices and sign out each phone. That deletes the phone’s record, its API key and its push registration.

Your photos and your mail are never stored by us. Photos stay on your phone, mail stays at Fastmail. Deleting an app from the phone does not delete its index, so do these steps as well if that is what you want.

Delete the whole account

Account deletion is handled by us, on request, so that we can check no service is still running and no invoice is still open.

1. Write to support@opensolr.com from the email address of the account. We only accept a request that comes from that address.
2. Use the subject Delete my account and name the account email in the message.
3. We answer with a confirmation, then delete the account. Requests are processed within 30 days, normally within a few working days.
