Schedule Optimize
Schedule Optimize runs Optimize on your Opensolr Index by itself, every few days, so you do not have to remember it.
01 · Turn it on
- Open the control panel of the index and click Tools.
- Under Utilities, click Schedule Optimize.
- In Run optimize every, type the number of days: at least 2, at most 365. It starts at 7.
- Click Schedule. The button now reads Stop Optimize Schedule (every N days).
You choose how many days apart, not the time of day.
02 · Turn it off
Click Stop Optimize Schedule (every N days) and confirm “This will stop the scheduled optimization for this index.” Deleting the index stops its schedule too.
03 · Which interval
- Data that changes every day: every few days.
- Data that changes every week: every 7 days.
- Data that rarely changes: once a month, or no schedule at all.
Each run is a full Optimize
The index may double in size on disk while it runs and a large index takes a long time, so keep room under your disk space limit. Searches keep working.
