No. The control panel has no button that uploads a JSON file. A .json file with your documents is sent to the Opensolr API, from a terminal on your computer or from a script. It takes one command: Send a JSON file, step by step.
What the control panel does
- One document at a time, from a form. Open the control panel of your index, click Solr Admin, then the Data tab. Fill in the fields and click Add document. More: Add documents from a form.
- Your web site, page by page, by itself. The Web Crawler reads your site and fills the index: Crawl your site.
- Following what you sent. Account › Data Ingestion shows every job you sent through the API, document by document: The Data Ingestion queue.
Many documents in a file
- Put your documents in a
.jsonfile, at most 50 in one file. - Send the file with one command, with your account email, your API key and the name of your index.
- Watch the job in Account › Data Ingestion.
Every step, with the command to copy: Send a JSON file, step by step.
Do not open the API address in your browser
https://api.opensolr.com/solr_manager/api/ingest is not a page. Opened in a browser it answers {"status":false,"msg":"ERROR_AUTHENTICATION_FAILED"}, because a browser sends no file, no email and no API key. Why: ERROR_AUTHENTICATION_FAILED in the browser.
