Bring your index back to a backup
A restore puts your Opensolr Index back the way it was when the backup was made. Pick one of two kinds, depending on what went wrong.
Two kinds of restore
- Full Restore restores the data and the configuration. Use it after a bad import, a deletion or a broken reindex.
- Conf Restore restores only the configuration files and leaves the data as it is. Use it after a configuration change that broke the index.
Restore
- Open the index in the Control Panel and click Backup.
- Under Available Backup Files, find the backup you want. The file name carries its date.
- Click Full Restore or Conf Restore on its row.
There is no confirmation step: the restore starts as soon as you click. It runs in the background, about one minute for each GB of index data, and you can keep working meanwhile.
Follow it in the Restore Actions Log.
Good to know
- A Full Restore replaces what the index holds now with what the backup holds. Changes made after the backup are gone, so make a new backup first if you may need them.
- From your own code: restore_backup.
