What the Chat Bot Needs
- An Opensolr Index in a region with site search. Such an index has a WebCrawler tab in its Control Panel. Which regions they are: what your index needs.
- The AI of your plan. The chat writes its answers with the monthly AI allowance of your plan. If the Chat Bot section says The Chat Bot needs a plan with AI, the plan of the index has none: see the plans.
- Your content in the index, with the Opensolr schema, filled one of four ways:
- crawl your site: add the address of your site, start the crawl, and every page, PDF and document it finds goes in the index;
- push your data: send your own records (products, articles, files);
- the Drupal module or the WordPress plugin, which do either one for you.
All of them fill the index with the fields of the Opensolr schema, which is what the chat reads. If you replace the schema of the index with your own, the Chat Bot still opens, with a warning at the top that it may not answer well.
Where to find it
- In the Control Panel, open your index.
- Click Chat Bot in the menu on the left, right under WebCrawler.
Every index has its own Chat Bot: its own embed code, settings, stats and history.
