The help button sits next to its field; added rows also get a remove button.

01 · The fields

  • The form starts with the parameters most searches use: q, fq, sort, start, rows, fl, df, defType and qf.
  • Fields that take several values, such as fq, take one value per line.
  • Empty fields are not sent.

02 · More parameters

  • Add parameter lists the other parameters by group: edismax and dismax, highlighting, faceting, grouping, spellcheck, more like this, rerank, vector and hybrid search, response and debug.
  • Custom parameter, at the end of the list, adds any other name and value.
  • The × button next to an added field removes it.

03 · Help next to every field

The i button next to each field explains it and gives examples that fill the field with one click. Examples and help.

04 · Parameters sent to Solr

Under the form, Parameters sent to Solr shows the exact request as you type. Three parameters are always added: timeAllowed=15000 unless you set your own, wt=json and expandMacros=false. Without q, the form searches everything with q=*:*.

05 · Already have the parameters?

Click Raw parameters and paste them: a query string from your Solr log or a URL fills the whole form. Paste raw parameters.

06 · The answer

The answer of Solr is shown as JSON, as Solr sent it: the results, facets, highlighting, debug and anything else you asked for. Limits on sizes and the parameters that are not accepted: Query limits.
