AI Hints: Answers from Your Own Content

One answer, written only from the results of the search

AI Hints

AI Hints writes a short answer above the search results when a visitor asks for it. The answer comes only from your own content: from what the best results of that same search say. Visitors get the answer at once, with the pages it came from right below it.

What visitors see

  1. A visitor searches. When there are results and the search has at least 3 characters, an AI Hints button appears above them.
  2. The visitor clicks it. The answer is written word by word above the results.
  3. It opens with one sentence that answers the question, then sets out the points as a list, with the names, numbers and dates the pages give.
  4. The × closes it, and the button comes back.

Only from your content

  • The answer uses only facts stated in the best results of that search. Nothing is added from anywhere else.
  • When several results bear on the question, it combines what each one adds into one answer.
  • When none of them is about the question, it says so plainly: "There is no information about...".
  • It does not name or link the pages it used: they are the results right below the answer.

Where it works

AI Hints answers one search. For a conversation, where your visitors ask follow-up questions and the bot searches by itself, use the out-of-the-box chat bot.

What it uses from your plan

AI Hints uses the AI of the plan of the account that owns the index. Every plan includes a monthly AI allowance of 500 AI requests; see pricing and API Quota.

  • Each answer written counts as one AI request.
  • The same question on the same results is answered again for free, and an answer that fails is not counted.
