Solr version retirement schedule
Solr 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 are retired on Opensolr within the span of two years.
- Solr 3, 4, 5 and 6 are removed starting 01/01/2027.
- Solr 7 and 8 are removed starting 01/2028. Their retirement is announced in 01/2027.
The retirement email
When a server is retired, Opensolr emails the owners of the indexes on it. The email names the server, its Solr version and your indexes on it, and it comes from Opensolr.
It is about that Solr version only. An email about Solr 5 in US-EAST is about Solr 5, not about Solr 10: the other Solr versions of the same region keep running.
What to do
- Move your index to a current Solr version before its date: Solr migration.
- Reply to the retirement email to have Opensolr move it for you.
- The Solr versions you can pick today are on Regions.
