Commit
Commit makes the documents you sent recently show up in searches. Documents sent to Solr wait in line until a commit makes them searchable.
01 · When to use it
- You sent documents with your own code and they do not appear in searches yet.
- You want recent changes visible now, without waiting for your tool to commit.
Delete By Query commits by itself, so it needs no Commit after it.
02 · Steps
- Open the control panel of the index and click Tools.
- Under Utilities, click Commit.
- The window shows “Commit successful”.
Your documents and settings are not changed: Commit only makes pending changes visible.
From your own code, add commit=true to an update request, or use API: Commit data for a Solr Index.
