Examples and help
The query form comes with ready-made queries and with help for every field, so you can start from a working search and change it.
01 · Examples
Click Examples, above the form. Each example has a title, one line about what it does and its parameters. Load empties the form and fills it with the example.
The examples cover: the default parser, edismax, dismax, function queries, range and terms filters, parent and child documents, collapse and expand, rerank, vector search, Opensolr hybrid search, facets, JSON facets, highlighting, grouping and deep paging with cursorMark.
Field names in the examples are only examples: use the fields of your own index.
02 · Help on one field
Click the i button next to a field. A window explains the parameter and lists examples; Use this puts one in that field. For fields with one value per line, such as fq, the example is added as a new line.
A few entries of Add parameter, such as collapse and mlt, are not separate parameters: they write into fq or q, and the list says which.
03 · Vector examples
The vector in the vector and hybrid examples is a short placeholder. A real one must come from the Opensolr embed API, with the same model and size as the vector field of your index. Embeddings.
04 · Docs links
Next to Examples, links open the Opensolr hybrid search docs, Opensolr Learn and the Solr query syntax.
