Upload a ZIP
A ZIP archive puts a whole set of configuration files on your Opensolr Index in one go, for example a configuration exported from another Solr server. The index reloads by itself at the end.
01 · Steps
- Open the control panel of the index and click Configuration.
- Under Upload Config Zip, click Choose File and pick your
.zip. - Click Upload File.
- A progress page lists every file as it is saved, then reloads the index and ends with “ALL DONE!” and a GO BACK link. If the index cannot load the new files, the page shows the error instead.
02 · What goes in the ZIP
- Your configuration files:
schema.xml,solrconfig.xml, word lists and the like. Files in folders inside the ZIP are saved under their own name. - Files without an extension,
.propertiesfiles and names that start with a dot or an underscore are skipped. - The i button next to Upload Config Zip lists the size limits.
Reset first when the schema changes
The panel recommends a Reset of the index data when you upload new configuration files, to avoid data corruption. Then send your data again.
03 · On a cluster
Upload the ZIP on the master: the same files are written to every replica and replication is set up again. It takes longer; the progress page shows each replica.
One file at a time: Edit a file. From your own code: API: Upload Solr configuration via ZIP archive.
