How to Use the Solr Admin Tab for Your Index

Control Panel

The Solr Admin tab of the Index Control Panel shows the statistics, replication and segments of your index, and runs search queries against it. It is read only: nothing on it can change the index.

01 · How to open it

Sign in to your account

At opensolr.com/users/login.

Open the index

Open Solr › Index List and click the index you want to inspect.

Find the quick-action row

At the top of the Index Control Panel, just below the navigation, there is a row of quick actions: Solr Query, Solr Admin, Drupal, WordPress, Auth, CORS, Best Practices.

Click Solr Admin

The Solr Admin tab opens, for that index. It is also in the menu on the left of the control panel.

The data is read on the server of the index, so the IP rules and handler limits of the index do not apply to the tab. Segments info needs Solr 5 or newer.

02 · What it shows

Query

Search queries with q, fq, sort, start, rows, fl, df, defType and qf, answered as JSON, up to 100 rows per query.

Overview

Documents, deleted documents, segment count, version and size of the index, and the Solr and Lucene versions.

Segments info

Every segment with its documents, deletions, size, creation date and Lucene version.

Replication

The role of the index, version, generation and size, polling, the last replication and failed replications.

To change documents or the schema, use the Solr APIs of the index (/update, /schema) with its login, or the Configuration tab of the control panel.
