A supplier’s credit note takes off one of its invoices. Registered against the invoice it corrects, it is booked on that invoice’s accounts and at its exchange rate, and set against it while it is unpaid.
- Open the received invoice and press Înregistrează o factură de stornare primită pentru ea (Register a credit note received for it): the received invoice form opens with the partner, Tip (Kind) Factură de stornare (Credit note) and Factura pe care o corectează (Invoice it corrects) filled in.
- Or start a new received invoice, choose Tip (Kind) Factură de stornare (Credit note) and write the number of the supplier’s invoice in Factura pe care o corectează (Invoice it corrects), when known.
- Write the number, date and amounts of the credit note. Its amounts are taken off, written with or without the minus sign.
- Register it as any received invoice. See Register an invoice.
The same form registers a credit note the company issued elsewhere, from the issued invoices.
A credit note that comes through SPV is read with the other e-Factura invoices and becomes a received credit note, tied to the invoice it names when that invoice is in the books. See Import from e-Factura.
- The corrected invoice must be of the same partner, in the same currency and with the same VAT regime.
- The credit note cannot be dated before the invoice it corrects, nor take off more than is left on it.
- An invoice number the partner has no invoice with is refused.
- Unpaid invoice: the credit note is set against it, with no money.
- Paid invoice: the page shows De primit înapoi de la furnizor (Still owed back by the supplier). See Refunds of credit notes.
- The credit note opens as Factură de stornare primită (Received credit note); the invoice lists it under Facturi de stornare (Credit notes).
