Romanian accounting, from the first document to the last return. Open source and free.
Opensolr Accounting is a web app that keeps the books of Romanian companies: invoices and e-Factura, bank, cash, stock, payroll, fixed assets, the registers and the ANAF returns. With an Opensolr account, every document is also read, with OCR for scans and photos, and can be found again in the company's own Opensolr Index.
RomânăEnglish
AGPL-3.0, no payment walls inside the app. Romanian by default, with a full English translation each user can pick. You install it on your own server. The Opensolr account is optional and is the only paid part: its plan holds the indexes that read and search the documents (see the Opensolr plans). Without it all the accounting works; the documents are kept, but not read, searched or asked about, and there is no index of laws.
The documents come in
Bank statements, e-Factura from SPV, Stripe, a Dropbox folder, or a plain upload.
Opensolr reads them
Text and OCR, kept unchanged, searchable by words and by meaning.
The books are kept from them
Invoices, reconciliation, entries, stock, cash and payroll.
The returns are made from the books
D300 to D406 SAF-T, checked with ANAF's own validators.
Everything a desktop accounting package does, plus the work around it.
Opensolr Accounting covers what SAGA-style accounting software covers for a Romanian company, and then does the part that usually stays manual: collecting the documents, reading them, matching them and finding them again.
The accounting itself
The books, the registers and the returns the law asks for.
- Invoices issued and received, with series, several VAT rates and e-Factura.
- Bank, cash, advances and settlements, stock, fixed assets and payroll.
- Journals and registers: sales, purchases, journal register, general ledger, trial balance.
- ANAF returns from D300 to D406 SAF-T, and the annual financial statements of micro-entities (S1005).
- Year-end closing and the decisions of the associates, with dividends.
The automation around it
The parts that used to be typed in, chased by email or searched for in folders.
- Documents arrive by themselves from ANAF SPV, Stripe and a Dropbox folder.
- Every scan is read with OCR and kept as a copy that never changes.
- The bank is reconciled against invoices, SPV and documents, with a report of what does not agree.
- Search and ask: find any invoice by a word, a number or a fiscal code, or ask a question.
- Law changes gathered in one place, with a daily mail to the accountants.
One road, from the document to the return.
Nothing is typed twice. A document comes in once, Opensolr reads it, the books are kept from it, and the returns are made from the books.
Every document stays linked to the entries made from it. A document an entry is built on can no longer be deleted by anyone.
Twelve parts, one set of books.
Each part has its own pages in the app, and the documentation walks through every one.
Invoices and e-Factura
Issue and receive invoices with series and several VAT rates. The UBL CIUS-RO file is checked with ANAF's validator and sent to e-Factura; received ones come in from SPV.
Documents and search
PDFs and photos read with OCR, searched by words and by meaning, with filters by date, amount, company, partner and currency, and a chat that answers from them.
Bank and Stripe
Statements in every format, checked against each other and reconciled. The balance of several Stripe accounts is brought in by itself.
Cash and advances
The cash book with receipts and payments, and the money given to a person for expenses, settled later with the receipts it paid.
Stock
Receiving notes (NIR), consumption, delivery notes, transfers between warehouses and stock counts, valued at weighted average cost.
e-Transport
Transports of goods declared to ANAF with their UIT code, started from a delivery note, an invoice or a blank form, then corrected or confirmed.
Payroll
The monthly payroll and D112, with employees and contracts registered in REGES-ONLINE and the answers read back.
Fixed assets
The register of fixed assets, depreciated straight-line every month, with the entry of the month posted in one click.
ANAF returns
D300, D390, D394, D406 SAF-T, D100, D101, D112 and S1005, made from the books and checked with ANAF's official validators.
Registers and reports
Sales and purchase journals, journal register, general ledger, trial balance, inventory register, partner sheets, ageing, bank journals and month-end currency revaluation.
Year-end and associates
The year-end closing, and the yearly decision of the associates approving the statements, the legal reserve and the dividends, with their entries.
Laws and fiscal news
What ANAF, the Ministry of Finance, Inspecția Muncii and CECCAR publish (the default sources, which the superadmin can change), in one searchable place, with a daily mail and a chat that answers from it.
Every bank line ends with an answer.
Import the statement in whatever format the bank gives you. The same movement in two formats is checked against itself, then every line is compared with the invoices, SPV and the documents of the period.
The reconciliation page lists only what does not agree, and says what can be done about each line.
Post everything certain
What the app is sure of is posted together, in one click, for the whole period.
Attach the missing document
A payment without its receipt or invoice gets the document attached straight from the bank line.
Register the invoice from the line
A payment whose invoice was never registered gets it registered right from the bank movement.
Stripe, without typing
Charges collect the issued invoices, fees settle Stripe and refunds reopen the customer. Payouts are taken from the bank.
Find any document. Ask the laws a question.
Two search engines in the app, each with a chat that answers from what it found.
The company's documents
Invoices, receipts and statements of the company you are working in.
- Any word, a supplier, an invoice number or a fiscal code.
- By meaning too, when you do not remember the exact words.
- Filters by date, total, company, partner and currency.
- Scans and photos are read with OCR, so they are found like any PDF.
- A chat that answers questions about the company's documents.
Laws and fiscal news
What the Romanian authorities and CECCAR publish, gathered in one index.
- Searched by words and meaning, filtered by date and by source.
- A daily mail with what is new, sent to every accountant who did not turn it off.
- A chat for questions about laws, returns and deadlines.
- Search tuning in the app, so the results can be adjusted without a developer.
- One index per installation, in the installation's Opensolr account, when it has one, searched from every account.
Made from the books, checked by ANAF's own tools.
The app downloads ANAF's validators and uses them as they are, so the validation and the official PDF come from ANAF, never from a copy.
| Return | What it is |
|---|---|
| D300 | The VAT return. |
| D390 | The recapitulative statement of intra-EU supplies and acquisitions. |
| D394 | The informative statement of domestic supplies and acquisitions. |
| D406 SAF-T | The standard audit file, made from the ledger. |
| D100 | The quarterly profit tax or micro-enterprise tax. |
| D101 | The annual profit tax return, with its entry. |
| D112 | The payroll contributions, from the monthly payroll. |
| S1005 | The annual financial statements of a micro-entity. |
One installation, many accountants, many companies.
An accounting office can run one installation for all its clients. Each person sees only the companies they were given.
Companies are added by their fiscal code; name, address, trade register number, CAEN code and VAT status come from ANAF.
Runs the installation
The first account. Sets the address, the mail server, the installation's Opensolr account, the Dropbox, ANAF and REGES-ONLINE applications and who may sign up, and manages the accounts.
Adds the companies
Signs up for free when registration is open, or comes in by invitation. Connects an Opensolr account if they want one, or uses the installation's when the superadmin allows it, adds companies by fiscal code and gives them their accountants.
Keeps the books
Assigned company by company. The admin can also let an accountant manage a company's connections.
Brings the documents
Uploads receipts and invoices, and sees and searches only their own uploads.
Each company has its own keys, set in the app.
No configuration files to edit. The admin of a company connects its services from the company's settings, and each company keeps its own.
The connections of one company are never used for another.
ANAF SPV
Connected once through ANAF's own sign-in. e-Factura invoices then come into Documents by themselves every few hours, and issued invoices go out to e-Factura.
REGES-ONLINE
The company's key for registering employees and contracts, with the answers read back into the app.
Stripe
As many Stripe accounts as the company has, each with a read-only restricted key, each read every few hours.
Dropbox
Pick a folder; every new file in it becomes a document of the company. Dropbox is only read, never written.
Opensolr Index
Optional. A company gets its own index, made automatically, when its admin connects an Opensolr account, or in the installation's account when the superadmin allows it. Its documents are read and searched there.
Your server, your data, no licence fee.
The whole app is on GitHub under the AGPL-3.0. It runs on a Debian or Ubuntu server with PostgreSQL, and a web installer walks you through the rest.
Install it
Three steps, then everything else is done in the browser.
- Clone the repository from GitHub on your server.
- Run the install script with your domain name; it sets up the database and the services.
- Open the address in a browser: the web installer checks the server, creates your account and connects Opensolr, or continues without it.
What it costs
The app is free. Searching and reading the documents run on Opensolr, and the Opensolr account is optional.
- No payment walls anywhere in the app, for any part, any number of companies or users.
- One index per company for its documents, in the Opensolr account of the company's admin, or in the installation's account when the superadmin allows it.
- One more index for the installation, for the laws and fiscal news, in the installation's Opensolr account, searched from every account.
- The Opensolr plan of the account that holds the indexes is the only paid part, and only if you connect one. See Opensolr plans.
- Without an Opensolr account the books, invoices, e-Factura, bank and reconciliation, returns, payroll, stock, e-Transport and reports all work. The documents are kept but not read, there is no search or chat over them, and no index of laws.
- The same model as Opensolr Photos and Opensolr Notes: free app, your own Opensolr Index.
Keep the books where the documents are.
