Statement formats it reads

Five formats, all checked against their balances.

Every official statement format a Romanian bank exports is read into the same kind of statement, so it does not matter which one you have.

Each format is read into the same movements; the same movement from two formats lands once.

CSV statement

The bank’s statement exported as CSV.

PDF statement

The statement as the bank prints it.

MT940

The SWIFT statement file.

CAMT.053

The ISO 20022 XML statement. All its pages are needed; a missing page is reported.

Transaction list

The list of transactions from internet banking, each with the balance after it.

02 · Every statement is checked
  • The movements must add up from the opening balance to the closing balance, or follow the running balance. A statement that does not is refused, with the reason.
  • Each statement must open with the closing balance of the one before it; a break is reported.
  • A file with no statement movements (some banks put only pending card payments in an MT940) is noted and skipped.
