Seven ways to arrange what you see: Best match, Date, Place, People, My tags, Folder and Camera.

The Group button in the row above the grid opens GROUP RESULTS BY. It arranges the library, or what a search and the filters found, under headings. The choice is remembered in this browser.

01 · The seven groupings
Best match

The results ranked by how well they match, split into Best matches and Also similar. Offered only when something is typed or a filter is on; with neither, the library is shown by date.

Date

The last six days one by one, then year, month and day, then No date. Browsing the whole library this way is the library view.

Place

Country, then region, then city or town. A level that would only repeat the one above it is left out. Photos without a place go under No place.

People

One heading per person you named. A photo of two people is under both. Photos with nobody named go under No one named.

My tags

One heading per tag of yours, like an album each. A photo with two tags is under both; untagged ones go under No tags.

Folder

The folders the photos came from on the phone, up to three levels deep. A folder holding only one folder is joined with it into one heading, such as DCIM / Camera. Items without a folder go under No folder.

Camera

One heading per camera, maker and model together. Photos without camera details go under No camera.

02 · Good to know
  • Each heading shows how many items it holds; headings fold and stay folded, as in the library, and Collapse all works here too.
  • The pictures of a heading load when it comes near the screen.
  • Grouping looks at up to 20,000 matching items.
  • Under a single photo's similar photos, the Group button arranges those photos the same way.
