Deleting a photo in the app removes it from the phone and from your index. The app always warns you first, and Android asks too.
- Select photos and tap Del in the bar at the bottom, or open one photo and tap Delete.
- The app asks: Delete N photos? They are removed from this phone and from your index. This cannot be undone.
- On Android 11 and newer, Android shows its own confirmation as well.
- The photos leave the results at once and are deleted from your index and from the phone's copy of it.
If the index cannot be reached at that moment, nothing is lost: the next sync sees the photos are gone from the phone and removes them from the index.
01 · Photos deleted elsewhere
- A photo you delete in your gallery or a file manager leaves the index at the next sync.
- When more than half of the indexed photos are missing at once, the sync removes nothing: that is almost always a storage card that is not mounted or a permission taken away. If you really deleted them, the Sync screen offers Remove the N missing photos from the index. See when a sync stops early.
- Taking a folder out of the ones you sync asks whether to keep its photos in the index, hidden, or delete them from it. See choosing folders.
