The Photo backup screen

What the backup is doing, how much is in your storage, how much is waiting, and every button that acts on the backend.

Me, Settings, Backup, then the button that carries your backend's name. The screen reads top to bottom: what is happening, what is there, what you can do.

01 · Status
  • While a run is on: the phase, Connecting to the backend, Reading what the backend holds, Bringing photos from the backend or Backing up, with a bar and N of M.
  • After a run: Done, Stopped, Waiting for battery, Waiting for Wi-Fi or Failed with the reason, then the counts: how many were backed up, how many brought back, how many failed, and when it finished.
  • A notification shows the same progress while a run is on, so Android does not stop a long upload half way.
  • Back up now starts a run; Stop ends the running one and holds everything until you press a button here again.
02 · Backend
  • The kind and name, the host or bucket, and the Backup quality in force.
  • Photos in the backend and Size in the backend: what your storage holds for this index, as the lists in it say. Photos, videos and PDF pages are all counted.
  • Photos on this phone and Size on this phone: the files in your synced folders plus the 720p copies, next to the backend's numbers, so you see how much the backend holds that the phone does not.
  • Waiting to be backed up: indexed files on this phone that the backend does not have yet.
  • Only in the backend: photos this phone has only as 720p copies. When it is more than zero, a note says how many and how big their full files are. See photos only in the backend.
03 · The buttons
Re-read the backend

Reads the lists in your storage again and starts a run now. Useful right after another phone finished a backup.
