Filters on the web

Narrow the library or a search by year, dates, type, what a photo has, meaning, people, tags, place, camera, orientation and distance.

Filters, at the start of the row above the grid, opens a panel at the side. Every change applies at once, behind the panel, and Done shows how many items are left. Clear all takes every filter off.

01 · How the panel works
  • Each filter is a heading you open or fold; the ones you leave open stay open next time, in this browser. A heading shows how many of its values are on.
  • Values come with their counts, worked out for what is on screen, so you see how many photos each choice leaves.
  • Picking two values of one filter keeps photos with either of them; values of different filters must all hold.
  • A long list shows its first ten values and Show all. A list of more than fifty gets a search box instead, to find a value by name.
  • A filter with no values in your library is not shown.
  • The filters that are on also show as chips under the bar, each with an × to take it off.
02 · The filters
