Photos on the web

Your Opensolr Photos library in any browser, at photos.opensolr.com, signed in with your Opensolr account.

The web app is your Opensolr Photos library in a browser, on a computer, a tablet or a phone. It shows the same index the Android app fills, so the photos, your tags, the people you named and the places are all there. The pictures themselves come from your own backup storage, an S3 bucket or a WebDAV folder.

01 · Opening it
  1. Go to photos.opensolr.com.
  2. Press Sign in. You sign in on opensolr.com with your Opensolr account, the same one the phone app uses, and come back to your library.
  3. From the Opensolr control panel, Services › Opensolr Photos in the top menu opens it in a new tab. That item is shown only when your account has a Photos index with photos in it.

If your account has more than one Photos index, the web app opens the newest one.

02 · What you need first
  • A Photos index. It is made the first time you sign in with the Android app. Without one, the web app says No Photos library yet and links to the app.
  • A backup backend, for the pictures. Without one, the library still lists and searches everything, but the grid shows plain placeholders and the viewer says the item is on your phones. Set it up on the Backup screen or in the phone app.
03 · Finding your way around
  • The top bar holds the search line, Upload, and the four screens: Photos, Map, Stats and Backup. On a narrow screen the four screens move to a bar at the bottom.
  • The person icon at the top right opens your email, Account and search tuning, the Opensolr dashboard, this documentation, and Sign out.
  • The Opensolr Photos name at the top left clears the search and the filters and goes back to the whole library.
One library everywhere.

Tags, places, uploads and deletes made on the web are saved in your index, and every phone of the account follows them. A few things are done only by the phone app; they are listed on what stays on the phone.
