The app has a small editor of its own: crop, rotate, resize, draw and add text. Open a photo, tap it, then Edit.
Drag the frame, then Apply. Reset brings back the whole picture.
Left or Right, a quarter turn each.
Change size asks for the width and height, with Keep aspect ratio, and shows the size of the file before and after.
Draw on the picture with your finger; Size sets the line. Hold your finger still at the end of a line and it becomes the shape you meant: a straight line, an arrow, a triangle, a rectangle, a circle or an oval.
Tap the photo where the text goes, type it, and Add; Size sets the letters.
Undo and Redo step through your changes. Leaving with changes asks Discard your changes? first.
Save asks how:
- Overwrite the original replaces the photo file. Possible for JPEG, PNG and WebP photos; for other kinds the choice says Not possible for this kind of file. Android may ask you to allow the change.
- Save as a copy writes a new photo next to the original and leaves the original as it was.
Either way the date, camera and place of the original are carried into the edited file. A photo too large to edit at full size on the phone is edited smaller, and the save dialog says at what size.
A sync starts right after the save. An overwritten photo is read again by Opensolr, since its picture changed. A copy is a new photo and is indexed like any other; it does not take over the tags or people of the original.
