Download all originals

One button brings the full file of every photo the phone holds only as a 720p copy, after a look at the free space.

A phone that got its library back from your storage holds most photos as 720p copies. Download all originals brings the full file of every one of them onto the phone in one go.

01 · Where it is
  • On the Photo backup screen, under Re-read the backend.
  • It shows only when Only in the backend is more than zero: when there is nothing to bring, there is no button.
02 · The confirmation
  • The app first measures the free space on the phone against the size of the full files.
  • When they fit, it says how many photos will be written into the phone's photo folders, how big they are, and how much space is free, with Download and Cancel.
  • When they do not fit, it says Not enough space, with what is needed and what is free, and offers only Cancel.
03 · What happens next
  • A backup run starts, and the status reads Downloading originals with N of M.
  • Each file goes where a single Download would put it. Its cloud mark goes and its 720p copy is removed. Nothing is read again or counted at Opensolr.
  • What comes down is what the backend holds: the original, or the 1080p copy when that was the backup quality.
  • A photo whose full file is not in the backend keeps its 720p copy; nothing is removed on a miss.
  • A run that stops part way (Wi-Fi gone, battery under 10%, Stop) carries on at the next run.

Do this before you change or clear the backend if you want every full file on the phone first.
