The Sync screen

What the sync is doing, what the last one did, and every button that acts on your index.

Tap Sync in the header. The Sync screen shows what the sync is doing, what the last one did, and every button that acts on your index.

01 · Status
  • While a sync runs: what it is doing (Looking for photos, Comparing with your photos, Indexing photos, Saving your words on N of M photos) and a progress bar with N of M.
  • Right after a run: what it did, such as 3 synced · 1 removed, or Nothing to sync.
  • A sync that is waiting to start says so. Re-Sync starts one now.
  • A notification shows the same progress, so Android does not stop a long sync half way.
02 · Last sync
  • Finished, as mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss, and Result: Completed, Paused, AI requests used up, Waiting for the charger, Did not finish and the like. See when a sync stops early.
  • Photos in your folders and Photos in your index, as they are now.
  • Kept from removed folders, when photos of folders you took out stay in the index, hidden.
  • Index recreated, when your index was missing from your account and a new one was made.
03 · The buttons
Re-Sync

New and deleted photos only.

Stop

Ends the current run, and any face reading, and holds everything until you press a button again.

Re-read

Sends every photo through Opensolr again, without emptying anything.

Documents

Reads the printed text again.

Reset

Empties the index and fills it again from the copy on this phone.

Re-read, Documents and Reset each ask first. They are explained in Re-read, Documents and Reset. No button is ever refused as busy: a sync that is running is stopped first, the button does its work, and the sync starts again.

04 · Faces, schedule and folders
  • Faces: Find faces in all photos reads the faces of the photos indexed before, only while charging. See people and faces.
  • Automatic Re-Sync: Every day, Every week or Every month. See when a sync runs.
  • Folders being indexed, with Change folders. See choosing folders.
