While you type, the app offers words your photos actually carry. After a search, a misspelt word gets a Did you mean. Both come from your own index, so only real words of your library are ever suggested.
- From the second character, after a short pause in typing, up to eight suggestions appear under the search box.
- They come from your tags, the words your photos were read into, camera makes and models, and the city, region, province and country they were taken in.
- A suggestion matches anywhere in the term: cat offers tabby cat.
- Tap one and it searches right away.
The suggestions are asked of your index and kept for a while in the phone's search cache, so the same letters typed again cost nothing. The printed text of receipts is left out on purpose, so they do not fill the list with numbers.
The tag and name suggestions in the tagging sheets are different: they are counted on the phone, from its own copy of the index. See editing tags, people and words.
- Every typed search is also spellchecked against the words of your own index: tags, words read from photos, file names, cameras and places.
- When a better spelling exists, Did you mean briefcase appears above the results, one tap away.
- Only words your photos carry can be suggested: the dictionary is your index.
- A search that uses search operators gets no suggestion, so your signs are never dropped.
