Your search page can search web pages and documents separately. Turn on Search Documents on the Search Page tab and two tabs appear above the search box: Web for your pages, posts and products, and Documents for PDF and Office files.
Before you turn it on
Your index needs documents. Tick Include attached files (PDF, DOCX, etc.) on the Data Crawler tab or on the Data Ingestion tab, then crawl or ingest again.
On the Documents tab
- Each PDF shows once, with its best matching pages right under it. Five pages are listed; Show more pages loads the next ones in place.
- The title of the PDF stays on screen while the visitor scrolls through its pages.
- Each page carries a Page N pill that opens the PDF at that page.
- A document shows its number of pages and its creation date.
- With AI Reader on, a page gets Read Page and Read Document.
With the switch off
There are no tabs, and the search page searches web pages only.
