With an Opensolr account connected, your mail is searched in an Opensolr Index that belongs to you.
01 · Your mail index
- The app creates it the first time you connect. Every phone signed in to the same Opensolr account uses the same index.
- It holds the subject, the people, the folders and the text of each message, and the text read out of attachments.
- It is filled in the background, newest mail first, until your whole history is in. New, moved and deleted messages follow at once.
- You can see it, back it up or empty it from the Opensolr control panel.
Settings → Search index shows what the indexer is doing, how many messages are searchable, how many carry meaning, how many are waiting, and how many attachments are left to read.
02 · Your plan
Settings → Opensolr account shows your plan, disk space, bandwidth and AI requests this month with how much is used, whether search by meaning is included, and a link to upgrade. It warns you at 90% of each.
- Out of disk space or bandwidth: Opensolr closes the index. Search and indexing stop until you upgrade, or, for bandwidth, until the month resets.
- Out of AI requests: search goes on by words only, without search by meaning and without AI answers, until the month resets. New mail gets its meaning later.
- A plan without vector search: search works by words only.
Nothing is lost at a limit: indexing picks up where it stopped. See the plans.
