The AI answer

One tap reads the best results and sums them up, from your own mail and nothing else.

Above the results, one tap reads the best of them and sums them up in a few lines, from your own mail and nothing else.

Search with Opensolr, and AI in your plan.

The AI answer shows with Opensolr chosen in Settings → Preferences → Search, when your plan has search by meaning and AI requests left this month. See Plan and limits.

01 · Asking for it
  1. Search, then tap Answer from these messages above the results.
  2. The card says Reading the messages…, then writes the answer as it comes.
  3. The subjects and file names the answer names are links: a tap opens that conversation, or that attachment.

The round arrow on the card asks again over the same results; the cross stops the answer and clears it. When nothing in the results answers your search, it says Nothing in your mail answers this.

02 · What it reads
  • The first 10 results on your screen, in that order, and only those scoring at least three quarters as well as the best one.
  • Each one with its conversation, its 20 newest messages, each with only the words its writer added.
  • The first 1,000 words read from each message’s attachments. See Text inside attachments.

No other search is made: change the search or the filters, and the answer reads the new results.

03 · Your own instructions

The Instructions for the AI answer button in the tools row of the search screen opens a box for your own words, up to 2,000 characters, for example give me only short, focused bullet lists. They are added to every AI answer without touching the search itself, are saved on this phone, and the button is lit while you have some. The chat follows them too.

04 · What it uses

Each answer written uses 1 AI request of your Opensolr plan; an answer that fails on the way uses none. For a question in your own words, with a conversation, use the chat.
