Every result at once

Select every message a search found, not only those on screen, and file them in one go.

One tap selects every message a search found, not only the ones on the screen, and files them all in one go.

01 · How
  1. Search, with Opensolr chosen in Settings → Preferences → Search.
  2. Tap the tick in the tools row, Select all results. The app counts them and says how many are selected.
  3. Tap Move to and pick the folder: every folder of your mailboxes is listed, Trash and Junk included.
  4. A dialog names the count and the folder before anything moves. Tap Move.
  5. The app waits with Working on it…, then says how many messages moved.
02 · What happens
  • Each message goes to that folder of its own mailbox, so one search across three accounts files each account’s mail in its own folder. What is already there stays there.
  • Junk also reports every message as spam.
  • The set is exact: the messages that match the words of your search, the meaning matches left out, so the same search selects the same messages every time.
  • One request, on Opensolr’s servers, on Fastmail and in your index together: thousands of messages in a few seconds.

For that one request, your Fastmail sign-in is handed to the server and not stored. See Privacy.
