Sharing a note as a file

PDF, Word (.docx), HTML or plain text, to any app on the phone.

A note goes to any app on the phone as a file: PDF, Word, HTML or text.

  1. Open the note and tap Share, at the top.
  2. Under Share as, pick the format.
  3. Android’s share sheet opens: mail, chat, Drive, Dropbox, or any other app that takes files.
01 · The four formats
  • PDF: the note as it looks.
  • Word (.docx): the note as it looks, with checklist boxes that still tick in Word.
  • HTML: the note as a web page.
  • Text (.txt): plain text, no formatting.
02 · Several notes at once

In the list, press and hold a note to pick it, pick the others, then tap Share at the bottom. Every picked note goes as its own file, in the format you choose.

03 · On the web

An open note on the web page has Export, with the same four formats, and the list has Export selected for the notes you tick. The files are saved by your browser.

To let someone open the note itself instead of a copy, see Sharing a note with a link.
