Find in a note

Every match marked in the open note, with previous, next and the count.

Open a note and type in Find in note, in the bar at the top. Every match in the note is marked.

  • The box shows which match you are on and how many there are, like 3/12.
  • The arrows go to the previous and the next match, and the note scrolls to it.
  • Case does not matter: wifi finds WiFi and WIFI.
  • Up to 5000 matches are marked and counted, so even a long note answers at once.
01 · Words or a pattern

Plain words are found as typed. The box also takes a regular expression, for when you look for a shape rather than a word. The ? next to the arrows explains what a pattern may hold, with examples:

  • todo|fixme finds either word.
  • \d{2}/\d{2}/\d{4} finds dates written like 11/03/2026.
  • https?://\S+ finds web addresses.
  • \bkey\w* finds words that start with key.
  • (?-i) at the start matches upper and lower case exactly.

A pattern that is not valid shows ! instead of the count.

02 · On the web

The note on the web page has the same find, in its view and in the editor. Aa there matches case exactly, and Enter and Shift+Enter go to the next and the previous match.
