Your notes have an address of their own on the web: notes.opensolr.com. It opens the notes index of one Opensolr account, and it is the same page the app's Open the search page takes you to, served from the Opensolr API servers.
- A captcha, the same one the hosted search pages use, before the page even asks who you are. It keeps robots away from the form.
- The two-factor code of the account that owns the index: the account address, then the code from your authenticator app, a recovery code, or a code sent to your phone as a text message when the account keeps a number for it. Without two-factor authentication on the account, this page does not open at all. It is the same sign-in as Opensolr Photos on the web and as the search page at search.opensolr.com.
- The index user and password, when you turn them on. Every Opensolr index has its own pair. Turning on the password of the search page, in the Opensolr control panel, on the index, under Security, adds it as an extra step: after the code, the browser asks for that user and password, here and at search.opensolr.com. Changing them signs every browser out of that step.
None of them is an alternative to another. A reader passes the captcha, then the account address with its code opens the notes, then the index password when it is on.
- Go to notes.opensolr.com and pass the captcha.
- Give the address of your Opensolr account.
- Type the code from your authenticator app, or press Send by SMS and type the one that arrives. A recovery code works in the same field.
- If you turned on the index password, give the user and password of the index when the browser asks.
- Your notes open. The browser stays signed in for 12 hours of use.
Sign out, at the top of the page, ends it at once and the code is asked again.
- An Opensolr account keeps one Opensolr Notes index, whichever phone made it. Every phone you sign in on works on that same index, so the notes are the same everywhere and nothing has to be chosen.
- That is why this page needs no index name: the account names it.
- Everything the search page does: search by words and by meaning, the date filter, AI Hints, reading a note, writing a new one, editing and deleting.
- A result opens the note when you click anywhere on its card, not only on the title.
