What stays on the phone, what goes to your Opensolr Index, and what Opensolr AI reads.

  • The phone keeps a copy of every note, in the app’s own storage. It goes when the app does, or when you sign out.
  • Your Opensolr Index holds every note: its title, its text, its category and its date. It belongs to your account; see it, back it up or delete it from the control panel.
  • Opensolr AI reads the text of a note for its meaning and for its category, and the notes a question needs for the chat. Each of those counts against the AI use of your plan, and each can be switched off: meaning and categories in Settings → AI, the chat by not using it.
  • GitHub is asked for updates, by the build installed from GitHub.
  • No ads, no analytics, no tracking, no crash reporting. Nothing else is contacted.
01 · How it is protected
  • Your password and two-factor code are only typed in your browser, on Opensolr’s own page.
  • The phone holds a key of its own, revocable under Account → Devices, never your password.
  • The search page of your notes is behind the index password and your two-factor code.
  • Every connection is HTTPS.
