Editing through a link

One person edits at a time, and everyone sees who is at it.

A note shared with a link that allows editing is changed by one person at a time, and you always see who is at it.

01 · For you, the owner
  • While someone with the link is editing, the open note says: Someone with a link is editing this note now.
  • You can still edit it. Your save is the one that stays.
  • When they save and you have not changed anything, their text appears in the note you have open, without reopening it.
02 · For the people with the link
  • While someone else is editing, the page says Someone else is editing this note now. and its Edit waits.
  • The text on their screen is brought up to date as soon as the other person saves.
  • A save that comes while someone else holds the note is not lost: their text stays in the editor, to save again in a moment.
03 · Read-only links

A link without editing only shows the note. Nobody can change the note through it.
