Sorting Results
Visitors can sort results by relevance or by any of your facet fields, such as price or date, up or down.
What visitors see
- A menu above the results starts on Relevance and lists each facet you enabled, by its label.
- A second menu picks the direction: DESC or ASC.
- The sort is kept in the address of the search, so it survives paging, filters and shared links.
Where the choices come from
The sort menu is built from the facets enabled on the Facet Configuration table, all except hierarchical ones. With no facet enabled, there is no sort menu and results stay in relevance order. To sort by a field of your own, map it on the Facet Mapping tab and enable it as a facet.
Sorting by a field replaces the relevance order; relevance only decides between results with the same value.
