Start, Stop and Restart Server Services

Control every service installed on your server

Start, stop and restart services

The System Services card lists the services installed on your server, whether each one is running, its version, and the buttons to control it.

Where: Servers › My Servers › your server › Services › System Services

01 · Which services

Apache, PHP-FPM, MySQL/MariaDB, Memcached, Redis, Varnish and HAProxy. Only the ones installed on your server are shown, each as Running or Stopped.

02 · The buttons

Restart

Stops the service and starts it again.

Reload

Makes a running service read its configuration again, without a full restart.

Stop

Stops the service.

Start

Shown instead of the others when the service is stopped.

Stats

On Varnish and Memcached: the cache numbers. See Cache stats.

Configure

On Varnish: cache exclusions and the VCL editor. See Varnish cache.

A message confirms each action, and the list refreshes. Refresh on the card reads the states again.

03 · Good to know

  • Stopping Apache, MySQL or HAProxy asks you to confirm: your sites go offline until you start it again.
  • Apache and PHP-FPM are watched by the health checks. If you stop one of them, the checks see it as down and start it again within about two minutes.
