Drupal Tools: Cache, Cron and Drush

Everyday Drupal tasks without a terminal

Run Drupal tasks from the project page

A Drupal project has a Drupal section on its page: one button for each everyday task, and a box for Drush commands. No terminal needed.

Where: Projects › click a Drupal project › Drupal

01 · The buttons

Clear Cache

Rebuilds Drupal's caches (drush cr).

Run Cron

Runs Drupal's cron now (drush cron).

Toggle Maintenance

Reads whether the site is in maintenance mode and switches it to the other state.

Run DB Updates

Applies pending database updates (drush updb -y). You confirm first.

Drush Command

Opens Run Drush Command, below.

02 · Run Drush Command

  1. Type the command after drush, or click a shortcut: Clear Cache, DB Updates, Config Import, Config Export, Status, Enabled Modules.
  2. Click Run Command. The output appears under it.

The box accepts the commands that start with cr, cron, updb, status, state:, cim, cex, pml, pm:list, uli, watchdog: and sql:. Others are refused with Command not allowed; run them in the Terminal. A command may run for up to three minutes.

03 · When the section is missing

  • It shows only when the project type is Drupal. If the type is wrong, change Project Type in Edit Settings.
  • Drush must work: the project's own Drush (from Composer) or one installed on the server. See Auto-detection.
