Backups of Your Index

The Backup tab keeps copies of your Opensolr Index, its data and its configuration. A bad import or a broken configuration file is then one click away from undone.

Backup files older than 7 days are removed automatically.

Which plans have backups

Backups are part of your plan. On the free plan they are not included. When you size your own plan on the pricing page, Backup is an add-on, priced as a share of the plan total.

Without it, the Backup tab says that backups are not available for your account type, with an UPGRADE NOW link.

The Backup Manager

Open the index in the Control Panel and click Backup. Each action has its own page:

Create New Backup: a copy, right now.
Start Daily Backup Schedule: a copy every day at midnight UTC.
Full Restore and Conf Restore: bring the index back to a backup.
Browse Backup Files: download your backups.
Restore Actions Log: the restores you ran, with their status.

Refresh reloads the list of files.

By API

Create a backup, list the backup files and restore a backup from your own code. The daily schedule is started from the Backup tab only.
