A word gets on this list when you tap the × on its suggestion. From then on autocorrect leaves it alone. The list stays on the phone and is yours to edit.
- On: the × next to a suggestion in the bar. Undoing a correction with backspace does not add the word.
- Off: remove it in the editor below, and autocorrect may touch it again.
In the app, under Words kept as typed, tap Edit the list. The list opens as plain text, one word per line: add, remove or change lines and tap Save. Words are kept in lowercase.
The list is part of your phone’s app backup, together with every setting, so it comes back when the keyboard is installed again on the same Google account, or moved to a new phone.
