Pasting from the clipboard

What you copied waits on the suggestion bar. A tap pastes it, the button next to it empties the clipboard.

What you copied waits on the suggestion bar, as one short line. A tap pastes it.

  • With nothing to suggest, it sits in the middle of the bar, between the settings cog and the Opensolr logo.
  • While you type, it stays at the right end of the bar, after the suggestions. A full bar scrolls sideways to reach it.
  • A tap pastes the whole text, as many times as you want: it stays on the bar after a paste.
  • Text the copying app marked as private, a password for example, shows as dots.
01 · Taking it off the bar

The × button next to it empties the clipboard, and only that takes the text off the bar. Where the phone does not let a keyboard empty the clipboard, the bar forgets that text instead, until you copy something new.

02 · Nothing leaves the phone

The keyboard has no internet permission. The clipboard is read on the phone, to show and paste it, and goes nowhere else. See Privacy.
