Opensolr Photos 3.4: Pick Photos by Dragging

Three things a thumb notices, and one of them is why you could never stop where you meant to.

01 Press, hold, drag

A long press has always started picking photos. Now you can keep your finger down and carry on: every photo between the one you started on and the one under your finger is ticked as it travels, dragging back unticks what the drag ticked and leaves the rest alone, and near the top or bottom edge the grid scrolls itself so a run can pass what is on screen. Headings are skipped — a group is still taken whole by its own tick.

02 A scroll bar that maps the grid

The bar down the right edge used to map your finger onto the row number, which made every row the same width on it: a folded group, being one row, took as much of the bar as a single photo. With one group open and forty folded, the forty shared a sliver and the finger could not stop on any of them. The bar now follows the height of the grid — a folded group is a heading tall, an open one is as tall as its photos — the finger lands inside a row rather than on top of it, and a heading close to where it points takes it, because what a thumb aims at is a group.

03 Which Valea Mare

A county holds more than one village of the same name. The place search shows the commune under the name now, so the choices read Valea Mare, Comuna Urmeniș and Valea Mare, Comuna Şanț instead of the same line twice; where even that is not enough, the line underneath says how many live there and exactly where it is.
