Opensolr Photos 3.19: Scan Documents Into Your Photos, Then Into One PDF

· Opensolr Photos · New Feature · All updates

Opensolr Photos 3.19 has a document scanner. Receipts, letters, contracts, the pages of a form: scan them with the app, find them later by the words printed on them, and send them as one PDF.

01 Scan a page

  • Scan, next to Me. The camera opens and an outline follows the page's edges while you aim, on a plain desk, on wood, on a patterned cloth.
  • Four corners you can move. The photo opens with the corners already on the page; drag one if it is off.
  • Straight and sharp. Save flattens the page into a rectangle at the camera's full resolution, then the camera comes back for the next page.

02 Found by what it says

  • A photo like any other. Each page is saved in a folder you already sync, DCIM first, with no location on it.
  • Searchable by its text. On a plan with vector search the printed text is read, so a receipt turns up by its total and a letter by a word in it.

03 One PDF, in your order

  • Tick order is page order. The photo you tick first is page one, the second is page two.
  • Made for OCR. Each photo goes in at up to 300 dpi: sharp enough to read and to recognise, small enough to send.

Opensolr Photos updates itself from GitHub. If you installed it before, it offers the new version on its own within a day.
