The Analytics tab shows what visitors search for on your search page and which results they open. The log is kept in your own TYPO3 database; nothing goes to another service.
Time range
Buttons at the top: Today, 7 Days, 30 Days (the default), 90 Days and All Time. Everything on the tab follows the chosen range.
The figures
- Total Queries: searches made.
- Unique Queries: different searches.
- No Results: searches that found nothing.
- Avg Response: the average time a search took, in milliseconds.
- Total Clicks: results opened from the search page.
- Unique Visitors: different visitors who searched.
Under them, Query Volume charts the searches per day.
The tables
- Top Queries: the most frequent searches, with their Count and Avg Results.
- No-Results Queries: searches that found nothing, with their Count. Each one is a topic your visitors want and your site does not answer yet.
- Top Clicked Results: the results opened most, with their Clicks.
What is logged
- Every search with words in it, its number of results and its time. Browsing the page without words is not logged.
- Every click on a result, sent in the background so it never slows the visitor down.
- Visitors' IP addresses only as SHA-256 hashes. The raw address is never stored.
- The tables are
tx_opensolrsearch_queriesandtx_opensolrsearch_clicks.
Searches that found results also feed the suggestions under the search box: Autocomplete.
Turn it off
Untick Analytics on the Search Page tab: from then on nothing is logged. The extension has no button to empty the log; deleting the extension removes its tables.
Good to know
Searches made on the Embeddable search page are not logged here. The search statistics Opensolr keeps for your index: Search analytics.
